Oracles of Nostradamus by Charles A. Ward. Published by The Leadenhall Press, London. No date. Presumed 1891, last date Leadenhall Press published. Preface by E. Walthamstow is dated 1891. Black cloth with gilt lettering on froint cover and spine. Gilt on spine is slightly faded. Not Ex-Library, Not Facsimile, Not Print on Demand.
Cover has heavy wear on the corner and top and bottom of spine. Gilt lettering on the spine is slightly faded, but still easy to read. TRHe is some scraping on the back cover. Hinges are tender and a bit loose but intact. There is some looseness between signatures but no loose or pulled pages and the book-block is unbroken. Spine and boards are straight. There is previous bookseller pricing on both front and back of first blank page, both in pencil, in different hands. There is a cutting glued onto the front of the first blank page entitled 'Mother Shipton's Prophecy'that has caused browning to the front endpaper. There is an old Brentano's Bookseller's sticker inside the back cover.I see no previous owner markings other than mentioned. Light toning to pages, top edge dust stained, bottom page edges rough cut or untrimmed. The catalog in back is printed on different paper than the text; it has toned a more than the rest of the book. I do not see any folded pages or tears, but some pages are bumped at the bottom tips and there is a 1" tear at the top joint of the half-title page. AH20b
