Considered Hungary’s foremost graphic artist and book illustrator (as well as printmaker, graphic designer, animated film director & teacher) Kass Janos illustrated approximately 400 books, classical novels and children's stories, among them an elegant edition of Imre Madách's 19th-century drama The Tragedy of Man. His work was remarkably versatile ranging from fine etchings to colorfully bold prints influenced by traditional Hungarian folk culture in both design & color.
