A Midsummer-Night's Dream by William Shakespeare. With Illustrations by Arthur Rackham, R.W.S. Doubleday, Page & Co./ William Heinemann. 1911. (Second impression, March 1911). Hardcover with no dust jacket. Gilt lettering on spine and front cover with gilt decoration on front cover. The gilt may be slightly faded, but is still quite legible. Moderate cover edge wear. Some staining and soiling mostly to the front cover. There was more separation inside the front cover which I have inexpertly attempted to repair, but have tightened up. There is still some flex in the binding, but pages are nowhere near falling out. Has all 40 color tipped in plates with facing tissue papers. (I had to count them several times, and eventually resorted to laying paper tabs in front of each plate.) There is light tanning to all pages (other than afore mentioned tissue papers and tipped in plates). Otherwise, no previous owner markings. No tears, folds or creases to pages. Not ex-library, not remaindered and not a facsimile reprint. For sale by Jon Wobber, bookseller since 1978. HL30a
