History of Sonoma County California by Honoria Tuomey. S. J. Clark Publishing Co.. 1926. Two volumes. 7 1/4" x 10 1/2" Volume 1: 784 pages, Volume 2: 958 pages Hardcovers with no dust jacket. Gilt embossment on spines may be somewhat faded, but still quite legible. Marbled endpapers and edges of page block. Moderate cover edge wear. Some scuffing to covers. Bookplate of Floyd D. Darby (has a biographical write-up on page 289-290) inside the front cover of each volume. While I did not examine every page in this set, I found very rarely an incidental smudge within the pages (example, opposite page 289). I found another, very small elsewhere. Also, very rarely, tanning on a page associated with a plate (I could not find a pattern here). I found some interior pages with wrinkling, probably from publication. There is a small smudge on the top of the page block volume 1. Otherwise, no previous owner markings. No tears, folds or creases to pages. Some old fashion clippings laid in. Binding is tight with no looseness to pages. Not ex-library, not remaindered and not a facsimile reprint. For sale by Jon Wobber, bookseller since 1978. JD12a
Volume one is the history part and volume two is biographical of many prominent citizens.
