"As a journalist, I am surprised to find the text of this book available at Internet Archive. It's a very sought after text and sells for up to $1,000 for a collector's edition published in 1975.
It's out of print but can be found on ebay, Amazon, etc.
I recommend reading Del Schrader's book for information on the Knights of the Golden Circle and the belief that the South would rise again.
Caches of gold & currency were purportedly stashed away in secret locations to fund a new Confederacy.
There are also rumors (some say it's actual evidence) that both Billy The Kid and Jesse James survived into old age.
The publication of this book created controversy which continues today." - a review on archive.org.
