The Commander of Submarine Squadron Six was Captain John S. McCain, Jr. There is a one page profile of him. One of his children was: "John Sidney (who recently passed his exam for entrance into the U.S. Naval Academy)". John Sidney would go on to be a prisoner of war hero in the Viet Nam War, long time Senator from Arizona, and candidate for President for the Republican Party in the year 2000. He would save health care for millions of people with a simple 'thumbs down' motion.

The future Senator recieved only that brief mention. The Commander would go on to be a four star Admiral who, "During the Vietnam War, McCain was Commander-in-Chief, Pacific Command (CINCPAC), commander of all U.S. forces in the Vietnam theater from 1968 to 1972." - Wikipedia
